Dejavoo P8 and P18 with RetailTime POS: deep linking setup

Dejavoo P8 and P18 with RetailTime POS: deep linking setup

Overview

The Dejavoo Deep Linking integration allows RetailTime POS to communicate directly with supported Dejavoo P8 and P18 Android payment terminals. Transactions are automatically sent from the POS to the payment application on the terminal without requiring manual entry.

Prerequisites

Before configuring Deep Linking, ensure that:

  • The merchant has a supported Dejavoo P8 or P18 Android terminal.
  • The terminal has been provisioned by the processor/ISO.
  • Confirm that DvPayLite is installed and configured by the ISO or Dejavoo.
  • RetailTime POS is installed on the terminal.
  • The merchant has their Dejavoo API credentials (required only for Cross Device configuration).

Dejavoo Portal Configuration

Depending on the merchant's requirements, several settings may need to be configured within the Dejavoo Portal.
Configure the device with your usual flow, except for the following 2 tabs (Tips & Tax and Integration):
Enable Tips

If the merchant accepts tips:
Set:
  1. Tips = Yes

This enables tip collection on printed receipts.

Enable Tip Suggestions on Terminal

If the merchant wants customers to select tip amounts directly on the payment terminal:
Enable:
  1. Tip Suggestion on POS
  2. Configure the desired tip percentages or fixed amounts.

Tax Configuration

Tax settings are only required for Hacienda integrations.
For standard Dejavoo integrations, no additional tax configuration is necessary.
Minimum RetailTime Build Required: 10745 or later

Integration Setting

Navigate to the Integration tab. If the P8 or P18 terminal will be used exclusively with the RetailTime POS application, set:
  1. Integration - None

Part 1 — Configure the Dejavoo Terminal

Install Required Applications

Once the device is configured, locate the RetailTime POS in the IPOS portal to the device:

Push the RetailTime POS app to the device you have just configured:

If the application is not available, the merchant's ISO should contact the Dejavoo team to have them published to the terminal.

Install the RetailTime POS on the device

Once the download on the terminal is completed, RetailTime POS app can be installed from DVStore

Part 2 — Configure Payment Settings in Back Office

  1. Open Back Office.
  2. Navigate to:

Settings → Store Settings → Payment Methods

  3. Set Payment Gateway to Dejavoo.
  4. Select Done.

At this point, basic Deep Linking is enabled.

Part 3 (optional) — Configure Multiple Dejavoo Terminals (Cross Device)

If the merchant uses more than one Dejavoo terminal, additional setup is required.

This enables:

  • Batch Close from one register
  • Tip Adjust
  • Void
  • Pre-Authorization
  • Post-Authorization across terminals
Obtain API Credentials

The API Key and Secret Key can be obtained from:

  • the merchant's ISO, or
  • the Dejavoo Portal:

https://www.ipospays.tech/

Navigate to:

Settings → Generate API & Secret Key

Note: Do not reset your active API Keys, otherwise you will have to update it in the Back Office.

Configure Cross Device Settings

Navigate to:
Back Office → Settings → Store Settings → Payment Methods
Complete the following:
  1. Enable Multiple Dejavoo terminals.
  2. Enter the API Key.
  3. Enter the Secret Key.
  4. Select Test Keys.
  5. Verify the message:
The keys are valid
Only continue after the keys have been successfully validated.

Add Terminal TPNs

Under Add Device TPN, enter the 12-digit Terminal Processing Number (TPN) for every Dejavoo terminal used by the store.

Recommendations:

  • Add every payment terminal used at the location.
  • Ensure there are no duplicate TPNs.
  • Save the store settings after all TPNs have been entered.

Adding all terminal TPNs allows the merchant to close the payment batch from a single register.

Part 4 — POS Configuration

Confirm that DvPayLite is configured on the P8 or P18.

Once RetailTime POS app is installed, login into app with your account credentials.

Go to Settings > Terminals > Add Terminal > the TPN will be obtained automatically > Submit > Done. You may run a test transaction now.

P8 Terminal Only

For the Dejavoo P8, you may enable the built-in printer. In Settings > Terminals > add Terminal > enable "Use Built In Printer".

Notes

  • Cross Device functionality requires valid API credentials.
  • API credentials are unique to the merchant.
  • Every terminal TPN should be entered in Back Office to allow centralized batch closing.
  • The POS automatically retrieves the terminal TPN from DvPayLite after configuration.
  • EBT payments and Partial Approval transactions are not supported with Dejavoo through Deep Linking, SPIn, or iPOS.
