Pre-Authorization Setup

Pre-Authorization Setup

Overview

  • You can pre-authorize card payments for your customers, so that they can continue adding to their orders afterwards without needing to re-swipe their card. The amount due will automatically be charged from the authorized card.
  • You are able to set the minimum pre-auth amount that merchants should be able to pay on their card in order for the pre-authorization to occur.

Requirements

  • Must have Pre-Authorization app and Credit/Debit Integration app installed in Back Office. To get the apps installed please contact support@retailtime.com
  • Can only be used on PAX S300, PAX D210 & D220 credit card terminals.

Instructions

1. In the left menu, go to Apps--->Pre-Authorization.

2. From the Stores drop-down, you can select for which stores you would like pre-authorization to be applied.

3. In the Default Pre-Authorization Amount field, enter the minimum pre-auth amount that merchants should be able to pay on their credit cards in order for the pre-authorization to occur. The default is $25.

4. Ensure that the Is Active checkbox is selected.

5. Select the Done button to save changes.
