Star Micronics MG S-8200 Scales Setup on Android
Overview
Star Micronics MG S-8200 Scales connect to your Android devices via Bluetooth and allow you to scale your products quickly and efficiently, and see the weights both on the scales and in the POS app. Please note that the Google Services must be enabled on the device.
Connecting the scales
1. Power on the scales. The light at the back of the scales is supposed to be green (which means they are ready to pair).
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your Android device Settings, wait for it to find the scales (MG-xxxxxxxx) device and then select it to pair.
3. Open POS app.
4. Go to Settings > Weight Scales setup > Search for scales. The scales will be detected, and at this point the system will ask you to allow detecting device's location. It should be enabled for proper performance.
5. Click on the scales name > Connect. Once the scales are connected, the green light on the scales turns into blue.
Now you can scale your items to test the device.
Please note that the units of measurement on the scales an in the POS need to be the same (gram/pound/ounce). The units of measurement in the BO can be set up for every product in Pricing tab or in Unit column while importing inventory.
